A study of Fluid-Structure Interaction (FSI) in aircraft wing design was conducted in this project. Steady-state computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulations were performed to characterize the aerodynamic forces acting on a wing profile. Pressure distributions and flow characteristics were captured through these simulations, and the resulting aerodynamic loads were subsequently mapped to a structural analysis framework. Stress distributions and structural deformations throughout the wing were then calculated and analyzed.Â
The simulation settings are as follows:
Turbulence model: k-omega SST
Pressure Velocity Coupling: SIMPLE
Inlet: 70 m/s
Wing surface: No Slip
Outlet: 0 Pa far field
Geometry
Static Pressure Contour on airfoil surface
Equivalent Von-Mises Stress on rotor due to pressure
Deflection in rotor due to pressure
